Nominations sought_TWAS-Lenovo Science Prize and 'TWAS Prizes' 2018

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) invites you to nominate suitable candidates for the below prizes. Moreover, you are kindly requested to further disseminate the call for nominations through your mailing lists, websites, platforms and networks, or any other means as deemed most appropriate by you.

1.       Nominations sought _TWAS-Lenovo Science Prize in Engineering Sciences

TWAS, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) – for the advancement of science in developing countries is inviting nominations for the 2018 TWAS-Lenovo Science Prize. The Prize, sponsored by Lenovo, has been established to give international recognition and visibility to outstanding scientific achievements made by scientists living and working in the developing countries.

In 2018 the prize will be given for outstanding achievements in Engineering Sciences.The Prize carries a monetary award of USD100,000 provided by Lenovo, as well as a medal and a certificate highlighting the recipient's major contributions. The prize will be presented at a special ceremony arranged by TWAS.

2.       Nominations sought _'TWAS Prizes' and TWAS-Siwei Cheng Prize in Economic Sciences

TWAS, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) – for the advancement of science in developing countries is inviting nominations for the 2019 TWAS Prizes and the 2019 TWAS-Siwei Cheng Prize in Economic Sciences.

The 2019 TWAS Prizes will be awarded to individual scientists who have been working and living in a developing country for at least ten years immediately prior to their nomination, in recognition of an outstanding contribution to knowledge in the following eight fields of science: Agricultural Sciences; Biology; Chemistry; Earth, Astronomy and Space Sciences; Engineering Sciences; Mathematics; Medical Sciences, Physics and Social Sciences (excluding Economic Sciences).

The 2019 TWAS-Siwei Cheng Prize in Economic Sciences will be awarded to an individual scientist for outstanding contribution in both understanding and addressing economic sciences.

In either case nominations can only be submitted electronically.
